Hi! I'm a proud dog owner. MyFavCorgi is a community of corgi fans and owners with advice to buy, raise and care for your corgi.

If you’ve been floating around the internet like I have, you’ve probably run across the fluffy corgi.

Corgis make a great family pet – something frisky for the kids, something loving for you.

A corgi means a long time of love and joy, but it also means a long-term commitment. And fluffy corgis are no exception.

S0, rest assured – if you’re thinking about getting a fluffy corgi: I’m right there with you! Whether it’s a fluffy Pembroke you’re after or a fluffy Cardigan, here are the top tips you need to know about getting a fluffy corgi.

Fluffy corgis can be found from regular corgi breeders. As they are a variant of standard corgis, it can help if you leave your details with a number of breeders who can contact you if they have a fluffy corgi available.

How do I find a fluffy corgi breeder?

The fluffiness of corgis is not just magic. It’s caused by a specific gene in the body: the FGF5 gene – often called the “Fluff Gene”.

That means that fluffy corgis are just regular corgis with a slightly different gene, and can be found in regular litters from regular corgis.

We absolutely encourage you to get your corgi at a rescue if you can. You’re saving the life of a corgi and giving a home to someone who deserves love and compassion. However, we do understand the chance of finding one is low.

You can find fluffy corgis from reputable corgi breeders. You will need have a conversation with them to find out if they are able to get you a fluffy corgi. This may mean waiting until they are available.

We recommend going out to visit them and the corgis wherever possible. It’s not just a fun trip – but it also gives you lots of advice and understanding about the conditions your corgi is coming from.

You may not have a local breeder in your area, and that means you need to look out of state/country. Unless you can do the drive (and it’s not always possible), you need to find an airline that can take animals.

How much do fluffy corgis cost?

A fluffy corgi should cost approximately the same as a regular corgi – up to around $2,500. A good breeder will not attempt to market them as a rarity or a specialty, despite being less common.

Corgis are one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world. Known for their unique appearance and playful personalities, it’s no wonder why many pet lovers are interested in adding a fluffy corgi to their families.

However, before you start your search, it’s important to understand the cost of owning a corgi.

On Average: How much to pay for a fluffy corgi ($500 to $2500)

If you’re looking to buy a healthy fluffy corgi puppy, you should expect to pay anywhere from USD$500 to USD$2500. The cost of a corgi varies depending on several factors, including the breeder’s location, the dog’s bloodline, and the puppy’s age.

Affordable Options: Adopting a Corgi from a Shelter (around $100)

If you’re on a tight budget, your local animal shelter may have an affordable option for you. Many animal shelters will occasionally get in adult corgis that are up for adoption. These corgis are typically available for around $100, making them an excellent choice for pet owners who are on a budget. Additionally, adopting a corgi from a shelter can be a great way to give a loving home to a dog in need.

Expensive Options: Buying a purebred corgi ($3000+)

For those who are after quality, a purebred corgi can be a great option. However, do note that the fluffy gene is recessive, and that fluffiness is not part of the breed standard. Fluffy corgis cannot be show dogs for this reason.

You should be prepared to spend more money for a purebred corgi. On average, a purebred corgi will set you back $500 to $2500, with some going up to and over $3000.

Beware of prices that are too low or too high

When buying a corgi, it’s important to be cautious of prices that are too low or too high.

A good breeder is aware of the market price and will demand reasonable prices for their efforts. If the price seems too good to be true, it’s likely that you’re dealing with a puppy mill or backyard breeder.

These types of breeders should not be supported, as they can be harmful to the health of the corgi and the longevity of the breed.

Do you have any fluffy corgis for sale?

I’m just a regular old dog owner, and not a breeder, so I don’t have any for sale.

If you’re after corgi puppies for sale in American, start your search with the American Kennel Club website. They have a huge list of reputable breeders and can get you in contact with all of them. In the UK, try the Kennel Club.
